Owensboro United’s Spring 2018 Select Soccer U13-U19
In Spring 2018, United SC will focus on the following improvements to our program:
1. Entering our most competitive teams in the season-ending state events.
2. Requiring players, on "State" tournament teams, to raise their commitment level to practices and games.
One and Two allow the Club and its coaches to combine players with the talent and commitment to compete at a higher level. This could mean combining age groups to create "State Tournament" Teams at two or three age groups instead of entering 4 or 5.
General Information
The Club will accept online registration for the Spring 2018 season beginning June 8, 2017 through July 31, 2017. Our Club DOES NOT hold tryouts as our training program is designed to meet the needs of players with varying skill levels. Our goal is to offer a quality training environment and to field competitive teams in all events, including end of the season state events. A down-payment of $75 (non-refundable) on the Spring 2018 Player Fee is required at the time of registration. After June 30th a $25 late fee will be added. The remainder of the player fee will be invoice separately in early 2018.

Group Training
All registered players will be assigned to training groups based on age (i.e. generally two age groups like “U13 and U14”) and based on skill and performance level. Players will be evaluated periodically and tested in technical proficiency and fitness. Players may be moved between groups from time to time to meet the training needs of individual players or selected teams. There will be at least 18 training sessions.
Games and Tournaments
United has multiple options for scheduling games and tournaments. Competitive matches are vital to player and team development. At the conclusion of registration, the Club will determine the suitable format. Options include self-scheduling Commonwealth Soccer League matches or traditional area leagues. In any case we anticipate “dual aged teams” and multiple rosters to maximize playing opportunity.
United will evaluate tournaments suitable for training purposes and for experience. We anticipate participation in up to two (2) tournaments during the season.
Throughout the season we will evaluate participation in state competitions at season’s end (Presidents Cup and State Cup) for players and “competitive teams”.
Please note that participation in matches and tournaments is at the sole discretion of the coaching staff. It is the player’s responsibility to develop the necessary skills and fitness to compete in competitive matches and tournaments.
Fee Structure
Registration / Commitment Fee - $100 (Includes association fees, insurance, registration costs)
Academy Program Training Fee - $210 (Training Sessions)
Additional fees will be assessed for participation in matches and tournaments. In general, those extra costs should range between $165 to $215 per player.
Base Fee for All Players is $310.00
Total Estimated Player Fee of $475 to $525 (if applicable)
Uniforms (A full kit is approximately $180):
Practice – Gray United practice t-shirt and black shorts and socks.
Game – Home – White Jersey, White Shorts and White Socks and Away – Boys - Navy Jersey, Navy Shorts and Navy Socks and Away - Girls - Royal Blue Jersey, Shorts and Socks.

Understanding
- The Base Fee of $310 represents the cost of this training for all players. In lieu of tryouts and player cuts, United will evaluate players throughout the season and positions and playing opportunity in competitive events are earned by performance. Competition Teams will be comprised of the best players.
- Rosters, Teams and Training Groups may change and FLEXIBILTY on the part of players, parents and coaches is critical to the success of the program for the player.
- This is a competitive soccer program. Players will compete for positions, elevation to differing levels of competition, and playing time. We anticipate “dual aged” training groups and rosters to promote player mentoring and to challenge players to develop and focus.
- United is offering an ample “registration” period for players and parents to evaluate their options and to ask questions about our program. We will close registration on July 31, 2017 and then communicate training schedules as well as tentative plans for game and tournament schedules in late 2017.
